Why did we create Aftermarket.co.za?
When the AM.CO.ZA Group started business in the CNC machinery industry 10 years ago, several warehouses were created in Asia to work with factories and suppliers to obtain machines, spare parts, and consumables for South Africa. The Buythis online store was created a few years ago to make the shopping experience for those machines, spare parts and consumables easier.
At AM.CO.ZA and Buythis online store, we only sell our own machines and their spares. However, there is a huge demand for spare parts and consumables for all kinds of machines beyond our range. Therefore, we utilise the warehouses and our suppliers inventory list and we created Aftermarket.co.za to sell all kinds of spare parts and consumables in the Southern African market.
What products do we sell, in what condition?
We sell the full range of products from our suppliers. We will also bring more suppliers onboard to meet the demand for specific spare parts. Please note, unless explicitly marked on the product page, all products we sell are new. However, you need to understand what “new” means here. Essentially, it means the product hasn’t been used. And the source of the spares are:
- Manufactured as spare parts by original, these are genuine spare parts but not common in aftermarket;
- Manufactured by third party manufacturers as compatible spare parts;
- Spare parts removed from machines damaged during transport etc; These are not used.
- Spare parts removed from overstocked machines, obsolete models;
- Rebuilt parts – spare parts retrieved from above situation;
- Other sources our suppliers may use.
The products on Aftermarket.co.za include common spare parts, not so common and hard to find spare parts. As these spare parts are not from our standard product range, we cannot provide any support nor give technical advice for them.
We do have photos from suppliers of the products. However, we have to state those photos for reference purposes only. Since the source of the product may change from time to time.
We don’t deliver, all our products are only for collection.
If we don’t have the products you have ordered in stock at our Sunnyrock (Johannesburg) warehouse, we will source stock from other warehouses in Asia and they will be ready for you to collect at our Sunnyrock warehouse in 5 to 7 days.
You will be notified that your spare parts are ready for collection. It is important for you to collect them, because by the nature of the product, it might not be what you are looking for, and you might have been misled by the photos or the description of the product. You are welcome to check the products and make sure it is what you require. If the product is not correct, you can reject the collection and your payment will be refunded to your online wallet. You can use the wallet to buy other products or request a refund from there.

However, if you send a courier to collect you lose the chance to examine and reject the collection. In addition, when you choose to let the courier collect, we will charge an additional R20 (excl. local) for packing and wrapping since most spare parts have no suitable package for individual shipping. And we have to bubble wrap it, box it etc which costs extra. Please note, we make every effort to keep your purchase shipping proof but we won’t take responsibility for or pay compensation for any lost or damaged shipment. Please purchase courier insurance yourself to protect against the risk.
If it is the wrong product ordered after collection:
Please remember to always handle it with care, do not just treat your purchase as fragile, but also handle it in a static-free manner because most electronic boards are highly static sensitive. Please refrain from taking the spare parts out of the packaging, and strictly DO NOT use (e.g. fit on, connect on). Once you remove final protection packaging (e.g. antistatic bag), or break labels, we will not be able to take it back. And for spare parts and consumables still in the original pack sealed, you can choose to send it back to us (proof of return should be within 7 days of the collection and transported at your own cost back to our Sunnyrock warehouse in Johannesburg), however, a refund – either full or partial – won’t be granted immediately, rather we have to send the product back to the supplier and satisfy their return condition before we can do so. We regularly send packages back to other warehouses on a monthly basis. For the rarely sold products, we may also charge up to 5% restocking fee.
Do we offer warranty for the products:
For the consumables, we won’t be able to offer any warranty unless it is returned unopened – see the previous paragraph.
For spare parts, a 6 month warranty is provided by the supplier against poor workmanship or material imperfection. However, the same return process as return opened spare parts, we have to send back the parts back to the supplier to determine if the quality issue was caused by poor workmanship or material imperfection since we have no machines, equipment nor qualified technician for such examination, and a replacement will be provided by the supplier with the same 6 month warranty period. If the malfunction is not caused by poor workmanship or material imperfection, you can either choose to allow the supplier to dispose of it or send it back to our Sunnyrock warehouse, for collection, at your own cost.
